Learning Objectives
You will Walk away from this course with a more profound understanding of yoga philosophies and traditional texts (such as the Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika or Bhagavad Gita).
Students will complete assignments which requires research. This is intended to spark ongoing swadhyaya (self-study) as part of your yogic journey. The never-ending inquiry that forms the foundation of transformative experiences on the path of yoga begins with the question. It is said, “the quality of the question determines the quality of life.”
These questions are designed to unlock the doors of ignorance (avidya) to awaken the student to satisfy their own needs for self-discipline (tapas). This is above and beyond the expectations of the 200-hour curriculum, which simply exposes the students to a preliminary understanding of these foundational texts.
