Weekly Curriculum

Kick off the online yoga teacher training with a week filled with introductions — to your classmates, your teachers, other instructions which include Swadhyaya Yoga School graduates, as well as the Zoom webinar platform, the curriculum, how to maximize on your online learning experience, course material, philosophy, anatomy, Ayurveda and Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa asana foundations.
You will be welcomed to this online training by your instructors from the United States, India and Canada and invited to experience this rich culture characterized by a deep spirituality. Connect with fellow seekers on the path of yoga from around the world and begin building lifetime connections on the path of self-inquiry.
As the week unfolds, you will learn what is dinacharya (daily activities / routines) and why we do it, cleansing practices, meditation practices, mantra chanting, Ayurveda and pranayama and experience satsangs (a spiritual discourse led by a senior seeker of knowledge or teacher), Kundalini Activation Process, and Sound Bowl / Reiki healing. Hatha yoga asana classes will focus on foundational and open-pelvis postures.

At the close of the week enjoy yoga nidra and restorative yoga practices to calm the central nervous system, dropping you into the parasympathetic tone where the body is permitted to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Over the weekend, you will enjoy the first of three yoga-related videos to support you on your journey into understanding your yoga heritage.
Continue your studies of yoga anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy, ethical precepts, the psycho-physiology of yoga and the Self. You will begin each day with herbal tea, followed by daily cleansing practices. Greet each sun rise with energizing Hatha yoga classes focusing on closed-pelvis asana, followed by theory classes in yoga anatomy & physiology before settling in to teaching methods and lifestyle practices with Deepa .
You will be provided with examples how you can continue to bring yoga to life with your family, friends and in your community. End each day with Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Restorative, Yin and a meditation practice (which could be anything from Kirtan, japa meditation, yoga Nidra, silent sitting, Kundalini Activation Process, Sound Bowl or Reiki healing). Explore a foundation in Ayurveda with Pawan Ji.

Wind down with your own self-study and stay connected with us via What’s App, IG or FB. Or, keep a journal, write your questions and ask them during Satsangs with Surya. Finally, you have the option to schedule weekly 1 on 1 appointments with your instructors (up to four) to ask any questions or share any concerns that you may have.
Over the weekend, watch the second of three pre-selected videos discussing a yoga-related topic; either teaching methods, yoga humanities or physiology. The rest of the weekend is yours to do with as you wish — complete any homework or prepare for the next exciting week.
You’re coming to the halfway point in your journey with us. Can you feel it? That’s you, harnessing the power of your authentic teaching voice. You will be practicing more hands-on by leading your own asana classes online … broken down into smaller segments. You will receive gentle, constructive feedback from your classmates and teachers to assist you in evolving your teaching practice and sequences.

Your confidence will grow around all the tools and you will begin to fully acknowledge yourself as a teacher and your teaching practices of postures, breath practice, mantras, meditation and more will arise, seemingly without effort.
This is the last weekend of three videos you will watch, discussing topics ranging from the history of yoga to the fascinating subject of epigenetics, neuroplasticity and quantum entanglement. And, uh, by the way, what does all this have to do with yoga? Wait for it. It’s pretty fascinating, eye-opening and inspiring material.
By now, you are starting to understand how this course offers a balanced, quality curriculum designed to transfer knowledge of authentic yogic practices, while challenging you to tap into your intuitive logic by increasing your self-awareness. You have co-created an environment which promotes stillness of mind (dharana), body (asana) and breath (pranayama). Furthermore, you understand viscerally what this means.
You’ve begun creating your own sequences and articulating verbal instructions to guide your students safely into and out of the postures. Explore teaching to your classmates in small groups online (and in person, as we encourage you to invite your friends and family to practice with you).
With your online training coming to a close, you will take the reins and step up as a leader. You will share your own carefully constructed, online yoga class.
Your spirit has been nurtured with the essential tools to guide others. You’ve conditioned your spirit to create and hold the space for others in an equitable manner that genuinely respects and has compassion for others.  Your body and mind have been rejuvenated by your cleansing and meditation practices. You are ready to share your teaching voice with others.

Balance all this with brand-building strategies designed to manifest success following your yoga teacher certification — however you define success. All culminating in you being acknowledged and honored by your classmates, peers and instructors as you receive your well-earned certification. Well done!

Congratulations. You did it.

My 200 hour RYT with Swadhyaya was a positively shifting moment in my life! This rigorous program has provided a wealth of knowledge that encourages me to delve deeper into Yoga. Mimi and Brianna are extremely committed and passionate teachers/healers. Their presence is a walking testament of their practice - exuding peace and warmth. The program is demanding but with constant guidance and encouragement throughout the journey. Teachers are accessible for individual discussions to aid any further specific guidance. The setting is wonderfully integrated with nature allowing one to feel more conscious connections coinciding with the philosophical teachings. The curriculum touches base on the practice holistically - including philosophy, anatomy, methodology, and business. Overall class structure/material chronology is mindfully sequenced to facilitate student’s natural learning progression. Parallel asana/teacher practice aids integration of esoteric materials covered in class. Highly recommend Swadhyaya to anyone looking to exponentially expand their knowledge of Yoga! I look forward to continue my 300 hour RYT journey with them!
